Mixing Reaction Kettle Manufacturer
FARFLY manufactures FS multi-function dispersing kettles for processes that need both material circulation and high-speed dispersion. Explore 1–15 m³ models and discuss a configuration matched to your formulation.
Two Mixing Actions.
One Production Vessel.
Bulk agitation and dispersion solve different processing needs. The stirring system keeps material moving, while the high-speed dispersing system works on powders, pigments and other formulation components.
The FS series brings these actions together for medium-to-high viscosity and thixotropic materials. Start with the formulation, batch size and processing target to identify the right kettle configuration.

Select by working batch volume, material density and viscosity—not vessel size alone. Confirm the usable batch volume, motor arrangement and operating conditions with your quotation.
How the Mixing and Dispersing Systems Work Together
Effective dispersion needs both local processing at the dispersing tool and movement of the surrounding batch.
Circulate the Batch
The low-speed stirring system moves material through the vessel. Agitator geometry is selected to suit the formulation’s flow behavior.
Disperse the Ingredients
The high-speed system provides dispersing action for formulation components. The tool and drive must match the required processing result.
Combine Both Actions
Stirring and dispersion can run together, keeping material moving through the processing zone rather than relying on one mixing action alone.
Match the Kettle to Your Formulation
Use the processing needs below as a starting point for an FS configuration. The product category alone is not enough to select the equipment.
Discuss Your Material with FARFLY →Coatings & Inks
Define the pigment or powder loading, viscosity and required dispersion quality. Where finer grinding is needed, include the downstream processing requirement in the equipment discussion.
Resin Compounds
Consider ingredient incorporation, material circulation and viscosity changes during the batch. Specify whether the task is blending a resin or carrying out a chemical reaction.
Adhesives & Thixotropic Materials
Assess filler addition and flow behavior under mixing. Very stiff or poorly flowing formulations may require a different mixing mechanism rather than simply a larger kettle.
Agitator & Dispersing Tool
Discuss anchor, frame, paddle or other agitator forms alongside the required dispersing tool. Select by material flow and processing needs, not motor power alone.
Wall Scraping & Material Contact
Wall-scraping devices can be considered where material builds up on the vessel wall. Specify chemical compatibility, cleaning requirements and the required contact-material grade.
Temperature, Pressure & Vacuum Duty
Provide any heating, cooling, pressure or vacuum requirement for engineering review. These duties must be explicitly specified; they are not implied by the term “reaction kettle.”
Installation & Production Workflow
Confirm the power supply, available height, feeding method, discharge arrangement and cleaning access. Include solvent hazards or other site safety requirements in the project brief.
Comparing a kettle with a planetary mixer? Start with material flow. Processes requiring intensive kneading or turnover of very stiff material need a different equipment assessment.

Answers to common questions about the FS series, model selection and process requirements.
What is the main function of the FS mixing reaction kettle?
The FS series combines low-speed stirring with high-speed dispersion in one vessel. It is used for mixing, dissolving, dispersing and color-matching processes involving medium-to-high viscosity and thixotropic materials.
How is it different from a conventional mixing tank?
A conventional stirred tank may rely on bulk agitation alone. The FS configuration adds a high-speed dispersing system, so material circulation and dispersion can take place together. Selection depends on whether the formulation needs both actions.
Does a 5 m³ kettle mean a 5 m³ working batch?
Do not assume the listed vessel capacity equals the usable working volume. Batch volume also depends on material density, viscosity, fill level and the space needed for mixing. Ask FARFLY to confirm the working batch volume for your formulation.
Can the stirring tools and wall-scraping arrangement be customized?
Yes. The FS series supports different agitator forms and dispersing tools, with wall-scraping devices available for suitable applications. Provide the material characteristics and process target so the tool arrangement can be reviewed.
Are heating, vacuum or pressure operation included as standard?
These functions should be specified and confirmed in the equipment proposal. Do not assume a pressure rating, vacuum rating or operating temperature from the kettle name. Chemical reaction duties also require a review of the process conditions and safety requirements.
What information should I provide for a quotation?
Send the material type, viscosity range, batch volume or weight, density, solids content and processing target. Include operating temperature, any pressure or vacuum requirement, power supply and installation limits. A description of the existing production process is also useful.
